Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley May Ryll on March 27, 2022, in Penticton, B.C. Shirley passed peacefully with her devoted husband of 49 years, Larry, by her side. Shirley is survived by her daughters Lisa (Ryan) and Lana (Dave) and grandchildren Aiden, Ty and Brady. Her family was her pride and joy and nothing made her happier through the years.
Shirley was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, on December 9, 1949, and enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Long Lake during the summers. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Oroville and Laurine Kennedy, and her brother Hugh. She is survived by her brother Blair.
In 1972, Shirley married Larry at the RCMP chapel in Regina, SK, and thereafter had postings in Weyburn, where they welcomed Lisa in 1974; Strasbourg, where they welcomed Lana in 1976; and finally Regina until 1978 when they moved their family to Penticton. Shirley began working at the Penticton Regional Hospital as an x-ray stenographer where she remained until she retired. She made many friends there, as well as through her time in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and time spent with the Okanagan Rodtiques. She will be remembered by many friends and family for her generous and welcoming spirit and her ability to make everyone feel at home.
We wish to thank the amazing caregivers of Trinity Care Centre for all the love and patience they gave Shirley over the past four years. They will always be graciously remembered for all that they did for her.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
