Tributes
Peacefully on Friday August 5, 2022 at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife of the late Owen James Bergin. Loving mother of Frank (Salyn), Jennifer (Bruno Bellefeuille) and Natalie (Max Caron). Cherished grandmother of Brittany, Kristanna, Francis, and Aaron Bergin; Owen, Jessica, and Matthew Bellefeuille; Christopher and the late William Bernard. Dear sister of Diane (the late Peter Gordon), Richard Morris (the late Lise) and the late George Morris (Elizabeth). Shirley will be dearly missed by all who knew her for her tremendous strength, sense of humor, love for her grandchildren, and spotless and organized home. Shirley was married to her soul mate Owen for 33 years, raising their son and twin daughters, travelling, and going out on the town. Shirley lived a full and happy life, was devoted to her faith, and enjoyed her years working for the Federal Government, being a stay-at-home mother, and working at Algonquin College. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, being present at their births and celebrating all their life accomplishments alongside of them. The Ottawa Senators have lost one of their most devoted fans. A Special thank you to Dr. Ann Fillingham, The Carefor Nursing Team (especially to David RN) and PSWs Tsehay “Sun” and April Rose for their compassionate care. Friends may call at the Tubman Funeral Homes Garden Chapel, 3440 Richmond Rd., Nepean on Sunday August 14, 2022 from 3 PM to 6 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Parish, 95 Somerset St W, Ottawa on Monday August 15, 2022 at 11 AM. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery.
