Shirley Frances Oglesby Lundy Vineyard – age 84 of Knoxville went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, which was two days before her 85th birthday. Shirley was a member of Pratt’s Chapel Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was the owner and operator of Shirley’s Beauty Shop for over 50 years. She was a brave fighter of dementia for five years, but the Lord had her on the Potter’s Wheel molding her in His image. Now she is walking on streets of gold where her memory has been restored, and she will never forget anything again.
Shirley was welcomed home by her parents, Bud and Hazel Oglesby; brothers, Jasper, Jim and Lee Roy Oglesby; sisters, Marilyn Oglesby, Carolyn Sellers, and Linda Bray; nephews, Mike and Todd Oglesby; nieces, Debbie Lee and Shelia Shultz; great niece, Nicole Oglesby; sister-in-law, Joyce Oglesby; and first husband, Clayton Lundy.
Shirley left behind her “one and only pride and joy” her daughter, Cindy Vineyard Parton; her grandsons that were her ”World”, Destin (Zoe) Parton and Devin (Madie) Parton; father of her daughter, Hoyle Vineyard; brother, Gene Oglesby; sister, Barbara (Jack) Adams; sisters-in-law, Gladys, Shirley Ann and Sherry Oglesby; many nieces and nephews; and former son-in-law, Buck (Kerry) Parton. Cindy would like to thank the staff at Signature Healthcare of Erin and Clarksville and Avalon Hospice for the great care and love that they showed to her and her mother with a special thank you to Aislynn Schoubye for loving her mother so much and being with her when she went to be with Jesus.
The family will receive friends 1:00-3:00 PM Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM with Rev. Stanley Carpenter and Rev. Bob Zavattieri. The interment will be immediately following the service at Asbury Cemetery with Rev. Doug Munsey officiating. Pallbearers: Destin Parton, Devin Parton, Hoyle Vineyard, Buck Parton, Anthony Oglesby, and Richard Oglesby.
