Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley Eileen Watling (Essensa) announces her passing on March 23, 2022 at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock New Brunswick at the age of 90. Shirley was born on June 1st, 1931 to the late Gardiner Essensa and Margaret (Piercy) Essensa in Harvey Station, York County New Brunswick.
She is survived by her children Sharon Pautler, David Watling (Carol), James Watling (Helene), Sheila Hansen (Neil), her grandchildren Graeme Pautler, Sean Watling, Scott Watling, Amy Watling, Josh Watling, Nicholas Hall, and Chelsea Hansen, and her great granddaughter Karley Watling.
Besides her parents, Shirley is predeceased by her husband Byron Wathen Watling, her granddaughter Stacey Pautler, her son in law Dale Pautler, her siblings Christina MacElwain, Bertha Narrowmore, Glenna Muise, Margaret McAloon, Lawrence Essensa, Earle Essensa, Lloyd Essensa, Donald Essensa, and Raymond Essensa.
A graveside service will be held at the Black River Cemetery at a later date.
If so desired, a memorial donation can be made in Shirley’s honor to the Arthritis Society of New Brunswick.
