1930-2022
Passed peacefully away at the Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion,
Carbonear, Shirley Thomas Best of Brownsdale, aged 92 years.
Predeceased by first husband, Wesley Thomas; second husband, Stanley
Best; parents, Abraham and Janie Matthews; sisters, Floss French and
Alice Matthews; son, Terry Thomas; and granddaughter, Gillian
Fleming.
Left with fond and loving memories are Cynthia (Tommy) Penney,
Charmaine (Ted) Eddy, Elaine (Chuck) Arsenault; daughter-in-law, Elva
Thomas;
grandchildren: Tammy, Lisa (Andy), Phillip (Diana), Juanita (Wayne),
Rob (Chia), Tracey (Jim), Corina (Chris), Matthew (Sarah) and Shane
(Rebecca);
many great grandchildren; extended family and circle of friends; as
well as special friend, Cyril Walsh.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the home care workers who
provided her with care for many years, her personal care workers at
Kingsway Living, Old Perlican and the staff at the Private Josiah
Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation and funeral service to be announced at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be
made in Shirley’s memory to Brownsdale United Church, Brownsdale.
