It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Shirley Buchanan who passed away November 2nd 2022 at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre at the age of 86 years.
Shirley was born April 28th, 1936 in South Side Nova Scotia. She later resided in Angus Ontario with her late husband Buck Buchanan. Shirley was the mother to Richard “Ricky”, Darryl, Andrew, David (Kasha) and Roger (Cheryl). She was a grandmother to Sarah, Tasha, Kyle, Josh, Carly, Braeden and great grandmother to Sadie.
Shirley was predeceased by her father Herbert Lockland Nickerson (71), mother Frances Naressa Cox (75), her two sons Darryl & Andrew, her husband Morton “Buck” Buchanan and her 6 siblings. Shirley is survived by her sister Mona, Sandra, Adrienne, and Phillip and sons Richard, David and Roger.
Shirley is remembered for her laughter, interests surrounding love for her family, Bingo, visits with her grandchildren, days with Betty her dog and absolute strength.”
Visitation will be held at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street., Barrie on Saturday November 12th at 11 am until the time of Service at 11:30 am. Reception to immediately follow at the Farmhouse Restaurant, 268 Bradford St., Barrie.
