Shirley Anne Brooks Passed away peacefully with her loving daughters by her side at Lookout Ridge Retirement Home on Thursday, October 6, 2022 in her 88th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Marcel (2013). Dear and loving mother of Louise (Mark), Stephen (Janet), Michael (Sarah), Christine (Len), and Simon (deceased). Cherished grandmother of Amanda, Adam, Maria, Thomas, Philip, Ryan, James, Tony, Milo, and John. Great grandmother of 17 loving children. Born in Sheffield England March 15, 1935, Shirley had a passion for music and theatre that she expressed in song throughout her life. This was especially useful during a 5 day trip from Winnipeg to Montreal in a VW Bus where she *was* the radio. She was adventurous, crossing the Atlantic (clutching her wedding dress) to marry the man she loved in Montreal on July 2nd, 1955. Shirley was a devout Catholic and a long term CWL member, pro-life treasurer and Eucharistic minister. She was beyond patient, loving and happy. Never was this more evident when she was praying the rosary in the car on family trips. She loved to celebrate family events and made sure we always felt special. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the exceptional care received at Lookout Ridge. Friends and family will be received at the Pelham Funeral Home, 1292 Pelham Street, Fonthill on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place at the Parrish Community of St. Kevin, 303 Niagara Street in Welland on Saturday, October 8th at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada or Pro Life, www.campaignlifecoalition.com/
