Passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2022, while in the Palliative Care Unit at Parkwood Institute in London, Ontario. Shirley was born in 1928 and recently celebrated her 94th birthday. Shirley was raised in Brantford, Ontario by her grandparents. She met her husband, the late Bill Cooper (2018), while working at Cockshutt in Brantford as a secretary for Bill’s father and the rest was history.
After getting married, Shirley stayed home full-time to raise a family of 4. They lived in Windsor, Oakville, then ultimately settled in London in 1967. They lived in the same house, which she loved, until recently. Earlier in life, Shirley loved to curl and was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels. As a loving wife and parent, she devoted her life to her family, first and foremost being an impeccable mother. Shirley is survived by her daughters Lynda (Alex Pazaratz) and Sandra (Joe Ryder); sons Brian (Sue Haynes) and Scott (Nancy Lewaniak); and 7 grandchildren Michael, Jamie, Sean, Sarah, Carley, Jessica and Erica.
There will be a funeral service held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a private family burial at Woodland Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, those wishing to make a donation in her memory are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society.
We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Shirley Ann Cooper December 17 2022 and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
