Sherman Elmer Allen
1931-2022

Sherman Elmer Allen , 90, of Edgett’s
Landing passed away on January 29, 2022 at the Moncton Hospital with
his family by his side.

Sherman was born in Nova Scotia on
July 2, 1931 the oldest son of the late Elmer and Mildred (Nickerson)
Allen.

Sherman worked for the Department of
Transportation. He shared many stories about his time with the
government garage, they had a lot of fun times. Sherman was a quiet
man with a great sense of humor and just a kind and gentle manner
about him. He was loyal, trustworthy and honest, his positive outlook
helped him cope with all his health issues over his lifetime. He was a
modest man with simple taste. He loved bluegrass and Christian music.
He had a thirst for knowledge and enjoyed reading National Geographic
and any bird book he could get his hands on. You could often see
Sherman sitting amongst his flowers and watching the hummingbirds at
his feeder. He enjoyed driving through the backroads of Albert County
and seeing the beautiful scenery God created. His main priority in
life was his family, they were his world. Sherman loved his home and
in his later years felt blessed to be in his home when his health
deteriorated and he was wheelchair bound. He was grateful for the
support and the way his wife and son made it possible for him. His
heart was full of love and his eyes would surely brighten up when he
heard his grandchildren and great grandchildren were coming for a
visit. His home was always welcoming to them and he was a wonderful
grandfather who showed his love through many ways. They had a very
special place in his heart and he left them an example to follow. He
has gone from his earthly home to his heavenly home and we can see he
is now walking beside his Lord and Saviour. “Until we meet
again”.

He will be deeply missed by his
devoted wife, Doreen (Steeves) Allen; his son Kevin Allen (Heather) of
Hillsborough; his treasured grandchildren, Ashleigh Allen (James),
Amanda Hoar (Nathan), James (Ashton) and Shaun; his cherished great
grandchildren, Kinnear, Hartford, Rosemary, Cody and Emersyn ; his
sister, Joyce Kennie of New Horton; sister-in-law, Leona Allen of
Riverside-Albert. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews
and all his extended family and many friends.

Besides his parents he was predeceased
by his brother, Norman Allen, sister Gloria Dobson and
Brother-in-laws, Carl Kennie and Leroy Dobson.

Honoring Sherman’s own wishes there
will be no Funeral service. A graveside Service will be held in the
Green Hill Cemetery, Edgett’s Landing, at a later
date.

For those who wish donations to the
Surrey Valley Baptist Church or Green Hill Cemetery would be greatly
appreciated.
