Obituary
In Loving Memory of Shelley Tappay.
Shelley resided in Creston, BC for many years where she lead a very active and full life with her cherished friends. Shelley was a member of the local quilting club, swam laps at the pool several times per week, canned and preserved the plentiful fresh fruits and vegetables from the Kootenay area and was often seen walking with her little dog, Rico.
Last year, Shelley moved back to Claresholm, AB to be closer to her family and was happy to be reconnecting with some of her old friends in the area. Sadly, that was cut short when Shelley passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge last Thursday after a brief but valiant battle with Leukemia.
Shelley leaves behind her two beloved children Lisa (Kent) Fortin from Duncan, BC and Jarrud (Val) Gilbert from Red Deer, AB; her seven grandchildren, Layne (Madisen), Jessica, Morgan, Serenity, Aliyah, Michaela and Isabella. Shelley is also survived by her siblings Jennifer (Dan Shapiro) Little, Sandra (Kevin) Staneland, Glenn Frache, Al (Kim) Frache and Tracey (Ron Grey) Stein, along with many nieces and nephews.
Shelley was predeceased by the love of her life and husband, Gordon Tappay, her parents Kaye and Warren Frache and her sister Leslie Mantei.
As per Shelley’s wishes, there will not be a public service. Her family is planning a private send-off on a date yet to be determined.
