Sheldon (Val) Osbak
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sheldon (Val) Osbak, after a 22 year long battle with cancer, on October 19th in the comfort of Stonewall Hospital with his wife and brother by his side.
Val was predeceased by his mom Norma and his brother Ronny. He will be lovingly remembered by his father Gordon; his wife Debbie; his children/grandchildren, Ashley Marmonier (Jeff, Liam, Mya), Morgan Brennan (Darren, Wyatt, Lex, Jayce) Jackelyn Osbak (Dylan, Noah, River) and his brothers Owen, Eldon and Randy.
Val was born in Gladstone, February 24th, 1961 to Gordon and Norma. He got his Welding ticket from CP where he started his career as a welder. On August 8th,1998 he married the love of his life Debbie, an incredible cook and amazing mother. They have 3 beautiful daughters, and 7 adorable grandkids who were the highlight of his life.
Val was a devoted grandpa (aka papa). He enjoyed taking the kids out to the cabin, quadding, sitting out by the fire and watching the kids play in the sand and water. He loved to go hunting and driving around the countryside. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time, as per Val’s wishes.
The family would like to thank Stonewall Hospital for all of their care for Val over the years along with Dr. Kerr Graham, HSC CancerCare, St. Boniface dialysis team, and numerous specialists and their teams.
