Sheila Dermott March 21 1948October 3 2022

Sheila Dianne Dermott passed away peacefully with her family by her side at age 74 at Matthew’s House on October 3rd, 2022.
Sheila was born March 21, 1948 in Alliston, the daughter of Fred and Nora Dale. She spent most of her life in Beeton and married her husband John Dermott November 12, 1966; they lived on the Dermott farm for many years growing rutabagas and other produce. Sheila is survived by her children Victor (Mary-Jane), Brenda (Vaun), Bobby-Jo (Brent) and Jamie (Melanie). She was a proud Nana to Gavin and Brooklyn, Brodi, Isabelle, and Emma and she was always eager to share a pic or cute story about her beloved grandchildren. Sheila loved to gather with family and often hosted holiday dinners; she was always complimented on her delicious gravy and Yorkshire pudding.
Sheila is best known in her community through the Royal Canadian Legion. She became a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in 1966 and worked many years as the head bar steward at the Beeton Branch. Sheila loved participating in Crib, Euchre and Darts and met many great friends throughout the years.
Sheila will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday October 14 from 12pm-1pm at Drury Funeral Centre (519 Victoria St E, Alliston). Service and celebration of life will follow at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Matthew’s House Hospice in Sheila’s name are greatly appreciated.
