Sharon was born in Fort Macleod, Alberta, on April 13, 1950. She was the second child of Eric & Jean Alcock. Sharon lived in the Fort Macleod area until 1992, when she moved to California and then to Arizona. Sharon visited her hometown as often as she could and finally returned to Fort Macleod for good in 2012 to be closer to her family. Upon her return, Sharon took a job as the caretaker at the Empress Theater until retiring in late 2017. She loved the Empress Theater and took great pride in making sure it was in tip top shape when the doors opened each night.
Sharon loved the arts, animals and nature and could often be found walking in the Wilderness Park or just around town. She was an accomplished artist, and many of her paintings she did in the 1980s and 1990s are still proudly hung in people’s homes today. Sharon was proud of both of her sons for their accomplishments. The apples of Sharon’s eyes were her granddaughters. She loved to spend hours with them dressing up, drawing, watching their performances and sporting activities, walking and visiting. Sharon will be missed by all that knew her.
