Sergio’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Sergio Piccioni on March 5th, 2022 at the Hamilton General Hospital in his 74th year. Sergio was a devoted and caring brother to Dominic Piccioni. Proud uncle of Joey Piccioni and adoring and loving great uncle to his special “Bud Buds” Nicholas and Livia Piccioni. Sergio struggled with various medical and mental illnesses throughout his life but found ways to overcome many obstacles while maintaining a sense of humor, devotion to his family and continuing to be genuine, kind, and a friendly soul. While residing at St. Joseph’s Villa since 2014, a good day for Sergio would be; listening to music, watching movies, calling Bingo, sharing his art work, visiting the tuck shop and participating in all recreational activities. Sergio enjoyed the Villa community making many friends, touching countless lives and leaving all that knew him with a smile. Thank you Jamie, Jason and the entire Villa staff for welcoming and including Sergio in every way possible and supporting him through his good and difficult times. Sergio has now been reunited with his parents Livia and Luigi Piccioni, his sister Elena Piccioni and many aunts, uncles, and relatives who have passed before him. They are surely having a heavenly gathering to welcome Sergio home.
Visitations will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL on Wednesday March 9th, 2022 from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral mass will be offered at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church at 1pm on Thursday March 10th, 2022. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Burlington.
In keeping with COVID-19 precautions, please wear a face mask at the Funeral Home and Church. In lieu of flowers, we respectfully request donations be made to St. Joseph’s Villa.
