Seldon
“Mark” Clarke – age 66, of New Minas,
passed away in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on Wednesday,
February 2, 2022. Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late Frank and
Dorothy “Snook” (Dalrymple) Clarke. Mark started his
professional career as a paramedic and embalmer, prior to working at
Michelin in various departments for 31 years until retirement. He was
the President of the Kentville Lions Club and had a passion for music.
Mark is survived by his wife, Gay (West); sons, John H. (Alisha)
Clarke, Edmonton, Alta.; and Chuck (Camilla) Rice, Greenwood;
daughters; Michelle (Greg) Barkhouse, Kentville; Jillian (Dave)
Surink, Red Deere, Alta.; and Michelle (Rob) Deir, Halifax; brothers,
Jim (Alana) Clarke, Cape Cod, Mass.; and Blake Clarke, B.C.;
sister-in-law, Bernice Clarke; grandchildren, Tyler, Matthew, Toni,
Thomas, Zoe, Makaylah, JJ, Anakin, Kayla and Robert;
great-grandchildren, Norah and Natalie; and several nieces and
nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his
brother, Fred Clarke. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of
Mark’s life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday,
February 7, 2022 in the Kentville Lions Club, Kentville, proof of
vaccination, gathering limits, social distancing and mask requirements
will be adhered to. Donations in memory may be made to the Kentville
Lions Club. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
