Seigred Eleanor (Wedin) (Plosz) Wells was born, March 27, 1933 on a farm near Fairy Glen, Saskatchewan and passed away in Oshawa, Ontario on May 12, 2022. She was the daughter of Peter and Eleanora Wedin and was predeceased by two sisters, Myrtle and Kaysa. Eleanor is survived by her children and their families, Zanda (Plosz) Wells, Mark (Kathleen Conway Wells) and Paul (Lisa Samson) Wells and grandmother to their children, Amber, Nicholas, Carolyn, Riley, Liam, Katie and Thomas. Eleanor graduated from the Saskatoon Normal School and taught in rural schools in Saskatchewan (where she met her first husband, Wilfrid Plosz) and Ontario and at urban Queen Street School, Welland, Ontario, where she met her second husband, Allen R. Wells. From her teen-age years, Eleanor was active in sports and with a range of handicrafts. She was a fine teacher whose skills benefited her children and those in her school community. Visitation will take place at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Wednesday, May 18th, 2022, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to Alzheimer Society, or Diabetes Canada (cheques only at the funeral home please).
