It is with great sadness that needs to be expressed to our family and her friends that we mourn the passing of Sandy, my wife. How do you put 43 years into a short story? The smiles, the laughs and the heartaches are what you remember most. Life throws disappointments at you and it is how you react to them is what defines your character. Boy she was one! She was a unique person with her own sense of humour and her complete and fulfilling love her all of us. She had a mothers pride for her two children, Chris and Casie and the fierce pride for grandchildren, Lexxie, Devlin, Julia and Desmond. She adored her family immensely. The partners of her children, Lindsay and Mike each had their place of admiration in her heart. Back in the day, she was “everyone’s mom”.
She grew up in a family of 4 children, Tom (Rhonda), Rob, herself and her sister Charlie (Pat). Growing up wasn’t always easy in the household but she endured along with the others to become adults in their own right. Life wasn’t always kind to her but her sister and brother-in-law Pat kept her smiling and content. Her Sunday morning calls with her brother Tom were a constant that kept her grounded and she had a sense of belong that only a sibling can put forth. The daily calls with cousins Donna and Johnny kept her in tune with the daily choice for lunch and the general goings on in Basset hound land. We will miss her greatly and think of her when the lilacs beside the porch bloom again in spring. We can then sit out on the front porch and watch life on Cannon Street go by.
Love you always, Tony
