July 22,1940 – Dec 26, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our mom, Sandra Mae Campbell, has decided to join her husband Allan Bruce Campbell and sister Rosalie, for a tall glass of wine and a fondue dinner in heaven. Mom was predeceased by her husband Allan in 2013.
Our mom was born in Whiarton, Ontario, on July 22, 1940 to parents William “Pete” Spears and Edith “Oriel” Spears (nee Vail)
Mom married our dad Allan in August 1968 in Ontario. David was born in 1969 in Deep River, Ontario and then Mom, Dad, and David moved to Pinawa in 1971, and Barb was born in 1972.
Mom served on many committee’s over her 50 years in Pinawa including Girl Guides, Red Cross, Lions Club, Health Auxiliary, Shirley’s Kitchen, Pinawa Fire Department, CNIB and many more I have likely forgotten to mention. Mom was even lucky enough to be awarded the Queens Jubilee medal for her ongoing community commitments. Mom was also proud of keeping up with the annual Mason’s/Shriner’s BBQ she held in her backyard every Pinawa Birthday weekend after our dad passed. Mom was known for her love of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Curling and attended as many events/ games as she could.
Mom will be forever remembered by us, her children Barbara Silva (Danny) and David Campbell, as well as her precious granddaughters Alyssa Silva and Courtney Campbell. Left to cherish the memories of her are her oldest sister Elizabeth Gravelle (Gerry), her brother Harold Spenceley (Joanne), and her baby brother Peter Spears (Anne Marie); as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and long time friends.
Cremation has already taken place, and being that mom hated the winter, we will be planning a graveside service in the summer or fall 2023.
Donations can be made in her honor to the Pinawa Health Auxiliary or the Pinawa Lions Club.
Thank you to all the staff in the IERHA over the past year that cared for mom at Pinawa Hospital, Springfield Place in Oakbank, Beausejour Hospital, and especially the staff at Betel Home in Selkirk.
