Obituary of Sam Babula
Babula: Sam a resident of Ridgetown, passed away at home on Sunday, January 9, 2022 in his 88th year of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Born in Flat Lake, Alberta, Sam was the son of Metro and Ruth (Nesimiuk) Babula. Beloved husband of Gloria Mae (Hyatt) for 65 years. Loving father of Greg Babula of Ridgetown and Lisa Martin (Jeffrey) of London. Loving grandpa of Shelby Butler (Curtis), Madison Babula (Richard Dutka), Lauren Martin and Nathan Martin. Loving brother and brother-in-law of William Babula (Lynda) of Petrolia, and Gloria Wurm of Idaho. Dear brother-in-law of Alma Babula, Ellwood and Cheri Hyatt, Ronald and Pauline Badder. Predeceased by siblings Robert (1959), Mary Wellington (2016), and George Babula (2018). Sam served in the Royal Canadian Air Force (1953 -1956), was a Navistar retiree, and farmed in Zone Twp. for many years. He loved the game of golf. The family would like to thank Dr. Len Prins for medical care and house calls, the pharmacy staff at Ridgetown Shoppers Drug Mart, R.N. Lisa, and all the health care workers involved in his care. Thanks to relatives and neighbours for visits, food, and flowers sent to the house. At the request of the family cremation has taken place, a graveside service will be held in Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville at later date. In memory of Sam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
