Ryan was playful, silly, unbelievably intelligent, and absolutely hilarious. He was well known as an animal lover, a gamer, and an athlete. He was smart and thoughtful and had a rationale for every decision he made or belief he held. In every way, Ryan marched to the beat of his own drum and was never afraid to say what he meant.
When he was younger, Ryan loved to cuddle, be read to, and play with his siblings. More recently, he spent much of his time going for bike rides, playing Spikeball, swimming in the 3-foot pool in his backyard, and watching TV shows and movies. He was particularly passionate about working out, especially with his best friend Charlie, and always raved about a good meal. He was often the smartest person in a room, but never had an arrogant bone in his body, or spoke as though he was better than anybody else.
Following his diagnosis, Ryan never lost a fraction of his determination, fight, or compassion. While he was in the hospital, he made sure to thank every person who came into his room, whether it was cleaning staff, nurses, those coming in to draw blood, or anyone else. He maintained his patience and optimism and fought hard to the very end.
He truly is an inspiration to his family and friends, and showed more grit than ten average people combined. His entire life radiated goofiness in everything that he did. His mother Cindy, his dad Pierre, his brother Shane, his sisters Rebecca and Jenna, and his Uncle Dan will be forever grateful for the time they did get to spend with him and the memories that they made with him growing up. Many lives have been touched and improved by knowing Ryan, and his memory will live on in those he loved and those who loved him.
