Obituary of Ruthmarie Weber
Our Lord and Saviour has called His servant home on Thursday, August 4, 2022. We are thankful to God for more than 100 years granted to her family of her loving presence.
Born in Kitchener on November 7, 1921 to Rev. Dr. John Schmieder and Margaret Poser, Ruthmarie was educated in Waterloo County including a degree from Waterloo College (predecessor to W.L.U.) and took up teaching at Suddaby School. She was married to Carl J. Weber in 1950 and was a devoted mother to her five children here in Waterloo County. She enjoyed summers spent at Lake Papineau for over 80 years.
Predeceased by her parents (1962, 1975), her brother Rev. Henry Schmieder (1976), and her husband (1991).
She is survived by her children John (Wendy), Mark (Mary), James, Barbara and Paul, grandchildren Andrew, David, Lara, Ella, Luke, Taylor, Ross and Kathryn, great-grandchildren Daisy, Fin, and Sam.
Many thanks to the staff of Luther Village on the Park and its Sunshine Center where she was a resident for 25 years. And also to the caring professionals at St. Mary’s, Grand River, and Freeport hospitals.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be from St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 54 Benton Street, Kitchener, on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Weber officiating. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener, to follow. A reception will be provided at the funeral home following the service.
Masks are recommended and will be made available.
