Ruth Ransom 2022

Ruth’s Obituary
Passed away at Victoria Hospital, London, on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
Norma Ruth Ransom of Berkeley in her 68th year.
Beloved daughter of the late John Edward “Ted” Ransom and Joyce Elsie Elizabeth “Dollie” (nee Cook). Dear sister of David Ransom (Diane), Linda Stafford (the late Frank Ireton) and Andy Ransom (Karen). Treasured aunt of Tim Stafford (Kerri), Heather Stafford (predeceased), Christina Ransom, Michelle Ransom; and loving great-aunt of Kaitlyn Stafford and Teddy Stafford.
Ruth worked as a hairdresser in Owen Sound for 35 years. She started her career at Creative Hairstyling and finished her career at Golden Shears before retiring. While working she became very close with many of her coworkers and her clients. Ruth was also the hairdresser to her family and many friends in her community. She especially enjoyed cutting the hair of her nieces and nephews and colouring it wild colours on request. In her younger years Ruth enjoyed canoeing with friends on the Saugeen River. She loved spending time with all of her nieces and nephews who affectionately knew her as Auntie Ru. Ruth also served as caregiver to both her parents, first her father as he battled cancer and later her mother after suffering a stroke, diligently taking them to appointments and arranging their home care. Ruth will be fondly remembered by her extended family, and friends in the community.
A private family graveside memorial will be held at Berkeley Community Cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation or the Centre Grey Health Services Foundation would be appreciated.
Condolences for the family may be arranged through May Funeral Home, 63 Main St. East, Markdale, ON – N0C 1H0 (519 -986-3310) www.mayfh.ca.
