Ruth Marie Howard Spooner died peacefully on Monday December 5, 2022 at Kingsway Lodge in St Mary’s, Ontario. She was predeceased by her siblings Harold, Kathleen, Carolyn and Bob, as well as her parents Eric Howard and Esther Kuno.
Ruth experienced a wide range of work and she welcomed new people into her life no matter where she lived. During the years Ruth spent with Jack Millward in Toronto, Ruth used to enjoy time with Dorothy, Pat and especially her close friends Bill and Gloria Ramsden. Later in Ruth’s life when she married Ray Spooner Ruth met Jim and Sue Pearson and they spent many years developing their relationship and enjoying the log home Ray and Ruth had built.
Ruth loved to prepare her home for lavish dinners no matter where she lived.
She greatly enjoyed having her friends and family near whether it was a big barbeque or a traditional Christmas dinner.
Ruth’s surviving members are:
The Hansen and Mutsaers families; Debbie McFarlane and her children Robert McFarlane and Brieanna McFarlane; Nancy Feick (Bryan); Charlene Rinehart; Cheryl Rinehart; John Rinehart (Starla) and their children Joseph Rinehart, Christopher Rinehart and Curtis Rinehart; Brenda Lavoie and her children Emma Lavoie, Matthew Lavoie, and Hana Lavoie; Laura Lightfoot (Rob) and Zach Sloane (Jen) and family, Aaron (d. July 2022), and Rachel Szelewicki (Randy) and Frankie and Phoenix.
There will be no visitation before the service which will take place on
Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 11am at WG Young Funeral Home. 430 Huron St, Stratford, ON. Lunch to follow the service. Burial at Avondale Cemetery, Stratford following the lunch.
