Ruth Ann Arnold (nee Cain)
June 27, 1950 – February 27, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Ruth at the age of 71.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband William (Bill), parents Dick and Betty Cain, brother Joey Cain, in-laws George and Evelyn Arnold, sister-in-law Iris and brother-in-law Gilbert.
Leaving to mourn are her children Carrie (Steve), Jaret (Kirby) and loving grandchildren Kyra and Hunter.
Survived by brothers Art (Holly), Rick (Shelly), sisters Janet (Ernie), Cathy (Clayton), sister-in-law June Price, brother-in-law George Arnold, numerous nieces and nephews, chosen children Cheryl (Anthony), Adam as well as friends and extended family.
Ruth was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Winnipeg Beach, MB, where she was crowned Miss Winnipeg Beach in 1968.
She attended elementary school in Winnipeg Beach and high school in Gimli. She met her high school sweetheart and future husband in high school and was married in April 1971. The two moved to Clandeboye, MB to raise their family. Ruth spent many years working for Scotia bank and TD bank in Selkirk, MB. After retirement she enjoyed spending her winters in Harlingen Texas and summers at her trailer in Gimli, MB. Along with many trips to Saskatchewan to visit her two grandchildren whom she adored.
Ruth was an avid Romance Novel reader, loved to knit, bake and spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed taking her little red car (1978 MG Midget) to car shows and was a member of the Lily Pad Cruisers Car Club in Petersfield, Mb. She was also a member of the Selkirk Chapter of the Icelandic National League, the Gordon Howard Centre and volunteered at the Clandeboye Community Club. Ruth was a very social person who will be missed by many.
Special thanks to Selkirk Regional Health Center. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.

So very sad today my neighbor, my friend passed on. I have known Ruth for years our children grew up together. Such a caring person. She will be missed. I wished i would have stopped in more for coffee. Good bye Ruth
I am so sorry to hear of this. Ruth was a great lady and a good friend. Not once did she ever pass by me without stopping to talk. I will miss seeing her out and about but I will think of her. I condolences to her kids and her whole family
