Obituary of Ruth Ann Payne
PAYNE: Ruth Ann Marie –
A resident of Ridgetown, and formerly of Chatham and Harwich Township, Ruth Ann Payne passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice with her family at her side on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at the age of 77.
Born in Chatham, Ruth Ann was the foster daughter of Homer and Laurine L’Ecuyer.
Beloved wife of 59 years to John Payne.
Loving and proud mother of Randy Payne (Kim), Robert Payne (Melanie), Korey Payne (Amy) and Fred Eade (Virginia).
Proud Mimmie to Jessica, Andrew, Joseph, Michael; Mikala, Walker; Josie and Travis.
Great-Mimmie to James and Adeline.
Dear sister to Ruby Guerin (Jim).
Also missed by friends and extended family.
Ruth Ann worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Blenheim Community Village. She loved spending time in her flower garden and spending time with family. She was a professional card shark with Crazy 8’s, passing this on to her granddaughter Josie. Ruth Ann was a devout Catholic, and her faith was a large part of her life.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm. Vigil Prayers and Knights of Columbus Prayers will be held at 6:30pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 26 George Street, Ridgetown at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Donations made in memory of Ruth Ann to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
