Obituary of Russell Elmer Best
It is with heavy hearts and loving thoughts that we share the passing of our wonderful husband and father, Russell Elmer Best. Russell will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Glenna (Hoyt).
Russell was born in Minto and raised in Newcastle Bridge. Russell is the son of Russell & Mae Best (Langin). He spent a long life enjoying his work, loved nature and being outdoors with his horse Ted. His backhoe was a prized possession. Russell will be making his journey with a backhoe, rake, and shovel.
Russell loved his family and was a proud father, grandfather, and soon-to-be great-grandfather (Baby Wood). Children: Elizabeth Wallace (Don), Reta-Ann Best (Glen), John Best (Willa), Peter Best (Tammy), Patty Best, Russ Best. Grandchildren: Meghan (Peter), Karrina (Kenneth), Matthew (Jessica), Jackson, Cameron (Becky), Alyssa (Dawson), Ethan (Ashley), Denver, Savannah, Colbie, Alivia.
Russell is survived by his brother, William Best (Eleanor), sisters Vaughna MacBeth (Richard), Judy Best; his brothers-in-law Keith Hoyt and Tim Hoyt; his sister-in-law Elaine Gauthier (Stephen), and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; by his brother Garnet Best and sister-in-law Lena; sisters Joyce Best & Ivy Best; and brother-in-law Wayne Hoyt; sisters-in-law Donna Belliveau (Hoyt) and Gail Hoyt.
Visitation and memorial service will take place at Christian Community Church, 819 Pleasant Drive, Minto, on Monday, May 23. Visitation 11-2, with the service following at 2:30.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christian Community Church or the MEMS Breakfast Program.
