Roy Edmonds passed away at Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong, BC on Friday September 16th, 2022 at the age of 82.
A service for Roy will be held at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church on Saturday October 1st at 2pm, followed by laying him to rest at Spallumcheen Cemetery.
Roy is predeceased by his parents Henry and Bertha Edmonds, siblings Bill Edmonds, Pat Harrison, Joy McIsaac, Hugh Edmonds, and stepson Karl Mirnickel. He is survived by his loving spouse Mabel Mirnickel and his large extended family, including children Lorraine(Jim), Julie, Julius(Juvy), Linda, Coral-Lee(Amanda), Christopher(Michelle), as well as his many grand and great-grandchildren.
Born and raised in Maryfield, Saskatchewan, Roy later moved to British Columbia and worked as a milk herd tester, skidder operator and faller, goat and chicken farmer, as well as a chinchilla rancher. He was an avid reader, enjoying everything from horror to westerns to sci-fi. Roy loved his Wednesday night bowling league, often singing old songs, and was also active in the Chinchilla breeding community.
The majority of his time was spent at home on the farm until he and his wife Mabel moved into town after a fire took the farmhouse. Starting over was difficult but his love of people far outshone his love of things and he always welcomed a good visit over the kitchen table and a cup of coffee.
Friends and family are invited to gather at the family home after the service to celebrate his life.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Roy Edmonds September 16th 2022..
