Roy Anthony Kurt Rolf
November 18 1958 – October 21 2022
Roy Rolf of Drumheller Alberta and beloved Husband of Judy Rolf, passed away unexpectedly due to complications from surgery surrounded by his loving family on October 21, 2022 at the age of 63.
Roy was born on November 18th 1958 in Calgary Alberta to very proud parents Ted and Lilo Rolf, who had only moved to Canada from Germany a short time before. A couple years later his sister Irene was born and their family was complete. With no other family in Canada, the 4 created, preserved and extended an exceptional family bond. Roy’s parents were his heroes and he always looked up to them. Roy’s sister was his partner in crime and they would jokingly banter and tease each other through their whole life. Family meant everything to Roy and that included the friends he developed that became like family to him. If you were his people he would be there for you in any way he could.
Roy had a zest for life and all things fun. He loved making people laugh and did not care what anyone thought. If there was a funny or crazy story about something that had happened, quite often Roy would be part of it. He enjoyed hockey and horses in his younger years and gaming, movies, and other things in his later years. Out of High school Roy became a proud soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces, until it was time to start his own family.
Roy was very proud of his children and told them that every time he talked to them or about them. His grandchildren made him smile beyond imagination every time he saw them. They would bring the kid out in him, and he would get right down to their level and play on the floor just to spend time with them.
Roy and his love Judy were married In August of 1997 and have been together for 25 years. Judy happily grew dads family when she joined his life by bringing with her 4 children and many grandchildren.
Roy spent most of his career being a truck driver and loved it. He especially loved when a family member would join him on some of his trips, or when he was able to rescue them and bring them home in his big rig.
Roy Rolf is survived by his wife Judy, mother Lilo, sister Irene, daughter Crystal-Rae (Michael), Sons Randall (Sara) and AJ, grandchildren Brandon, Tristen, Layne, Jackson, and Fynn, as well as Niece Charlotte, and nephew Keli (Amber), and many more extended family and friends.

A celebration of life is being held Saturday November 5th @ 4pm at the Drumheller Community Church 245 – 3 St West Drumheller, Alberta with a luncheon to follow. Anyone that would like to attend to pay their respects to Roy or support the family at this difficult time is welcome to join.
