ROWAT DANIEL GUMMY 2022

P Daniel “Gummy” Rowat
1956- 2022
Passed away suddenly on Monday, June 6th, 2022, at his favourite cottage on the Severn River. Dan “Gummy” Rowat was born on Jan 3, 1956 and was the New Years Baby that year.
He is survived by his sons Joshua (Kathleen) Smith of Edmonton, Ab, Jesse (Jenna Cybulski) Smith of Barrie, On and Gregory (Sarah Neville) Rowat of Ottawa, On.
Dan was predeceased by his father Paul “Gummy” Rowat in 2011 and is survived by his mother Joan (Robertson) Rowat. He is survived by his siblings Diane Rowat-Walton and David (Joni) Rowat. He is also survived by his aunts Shirley Townsend and Verna Rowat and many cousins on both the Rowat and Robertson side of the family.
Dan was a loving grandfather to Leo and Luna and a wonderful uncle to Brad (Tammi), Amy (Greg), Shelley (Lorne), Debbie (Jose) and Jason.
Dan was an exceptional hockey and baseball player. Over the years, he played on many award-winning teams and was captain of the Barrie Colts. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many years camping in Meaford with Patty, Gummy Sr, Dave and many long-term friends. He loved fishing and always looked forward to his annual fall fishing trips with the Elmvale boys.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life is planned for July 23, 2022 at the Elmvale Legion (upstairs) from 1-4pm. Please join Dan’s family and friends to celebrate the life of an Elmvale boy who proudly bore the nickname “Gummy or Gummy Jr.”. We know there are lots of stories to be told.
If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Elmvale Food Bank, the ALS Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Hospice Simcoe.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of ROWAT DANIEL GUMMY 2022..
