It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Ross Malcom Strang on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the age of 85.
Born in Price Settlement, he was the first-born son of John and Alice (Harding) Strang.
Ross was a man who dedicated his entire life to his wife, his children and his grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his story telling ability, his talent for impersonations, his witty personality, his hard work ethic and his honesty. Ross was a man of great faith and a member of St. John’s Presbyterian Church, he started his day with Bette, reading their daily devotions and prayer. He was always interested in listening to others, no story was mundane to him. A woodsman by trade, his love of working on woodlots with his horses is a memory he often shared and kept dear to his heart. He took great pride in his garden and loved to share the harvest with everyone. His love of guitar and music gave him many hours of joy, George Jones will never be heard the same way without Ross.
He treasured every minute of his time with Bette. As everyone knows, when you saw one, you saw the other. A wonderful father, grandfather and was looking forward to being a great grandfather very soon.
He will be greatly missed by the love of his life, his wife, Elizabeth (Wishart) Strang, his son, Dean (Bernice), daughter, Jenny MacDougall (Colin), his grandchildren, Jacob, Garrett, James, Celia, Mary Kate, Ross and Jane. His grandchildren were everything to him, he was their “Dada”.
He also leaves to mourn his siblings, Evelyn, Marie, Janet, Perley, Arlene, Arthur and Erma as well as his sisters in law, brothers in law and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parent, Ross was predeceased by his sister, Eleanor and brother Charlie.
Visitation will be held from St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. A graveside funeral will be held at the Stymiest Cemetery in Price Settlement on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 3 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Stymiest Cemetery, St. John’s Presbyterian Church or to a memorial of one’s choice.
