Ross I. Hicks, 93, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton
Hospital on Friday, December 2, 2022. Born in Woburn, Mass, USA, he
was the son of the late Ross and Hazel (Wood) Hicks.
Ross retired after a very successful career with Atlantic
Wholesalers (Loblaw) as District Manager and Store Manager. Before his
career with Atlantic Wholesalers he had a 20-year career with Co-op
Atlantic. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Parkside Baptist
Church and sang tenor as a member of the church quartet. He enjoyed
woodworking, reading and singing, watching Oak Island, cooking and
will be remembered for his famous white cake and chocolate sauce, but
most of all was time spent with his family.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 73 years,
Marguerite “Peggy” Hicks; his daughter, Kimberley Young
(Paul); grandchildren, Lisa, Matthew, Jeffery, Scott, Jason and Shawn;
great grandchildren, Colt, Ross, Brittany, Kerrigan, Kelsey, Sarah,
Jacob, Haley, Abby and Alex; great great grandchildren, Cameron,
Cohen, Avery and Brynnleigh. He was the last surviving member of his
immediate family.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his
daughter, Susan Brown; son, Gregory Hicks; great grandson, Liam;
sister, June; and brothers, Gerald, Lloyd, Richard, Sherman and
Russell.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Service to
Celebrate and Honour Ross’s life will be held on Wednesday,
December 7, 2022 at 11:00 from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel.
Reception will follow in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment
to be held in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
