Obituary of Rose Marie Geldhof
In loving memory, we say Aloha to our beloved Meme, Rose Marie Geldhof. Born April 20, 1938, in West Flanders, Belgium. She went to heaven on Thursday, June 9, 2022.
She was happily married for 61 years to the late Joris Geldhof. Loving mother to her three children Angeline, Anthony, Noelle and son-in-law Shane. Adored grandmother to Emmaline, Maximillian and Marcus. Sister to the late Marie and the late Joseph Vajko, Jerome and the late Madelaine Rondelez, the late Johan and Patricia Rondelez. Sister-in-law to Lucien and Godeliva Geldhof. Tante to Joseph, Suzanne, Elizabeth, Rose Marie, Jerome Jr., William, Michelle, Johan Jr., Martin, Maurice, Annette, Peter, Ronny and Patrick and to many grand-nieces and nephews.
Rose Marie came to Canada in June 1956. She was the matriarch of our family, always encouraging and supporting. She guided us through all trials and tribulations and rejoiced with us in all our successes. Mama taught us to be strong. She was a creative woman ahead of her time.
Mama had an adventurous spirit; she travelled across Canada, Europe, Mexico and the US. In her later years she spent 25 winters living in Hawai’i. Mama loved gardening with flowers and planting seedlings. We will remember her warm heart, funny sense of humour, loving hugs and blessings. She taught us so many valuable life lessons, the most important being to love with all our hearts.
A Memorial Mass will be held at All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Strathroy on June 17, 2022 at 2 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.strathroyfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF STRATHROY.
