Rose Recksiedler
October 6, 2022
October 1, 2022 – June 6, 1943
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving Mother and Nana on October 1, 2022. She passed away peacefully with her daughter Audreen by her side.
Rose was born June 6, 1943 to Oscar and Barbara (nee Robertson) Hart of Jackfish Lake, Manitoba.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Daniel Recksiedler; daughter Lynda Thomas and grandson Damian Thomas, as well as many brothers and sisters in law.
She is survived by her children Audreen Recksiedler, Curtis Recksiedler (Cassie Hourie), Teresa (Larry) Handford, Eric (Angel) Recksiedler, and son in-law Darren Thomas; her 10 grandchildren, Daniel (Kate) Thomas, Sheena Thomas, Samantha Recksiedler, Ashley Recksiedler (Jordan Kennedy), Taylor Recksiedler (Jacob Schamber), Andrew (Tiffany) Recksiedler, Kirstie (Mike) Carrier, Jeremy Handford, Remington Recksiedler and Jordyn Recksiedler. She was also blessed with 10 great grandchildren, Maddie, Lynda, Xander, Shayla, Kelcie, Phoenix, Payton, Anthony, London, and Lincoln.
Also surviving are Rose’s sisters-in-law Betty Recksiedler, Sandy Jessamine; half-sisters Barb and Wilma, and many nieces and nephews.
Rose grew up at Jackfish Lake then moved to Winnipeg after graduation where she lived with her friends Elaine and Cheryl.
She moved back to Jackfish Lake and married “Danny” Daniel Recksiedler, they lived on the Recksiedler family farm and raised 5 children. After her husband’s passing, she moved to Winnipeg with her daughter Audreen and worked as a secretary with Family Conciliation until retiring. Her family was her heart & soul. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was what she wanted most in life.
Rose also enjoyed shopping, going to bingo, blueberry picking, garage sale hopping, scrabble, spending time with her niece Janice & family, and her sister-in-law Sandy & niece Charlotte. Rose liked road trips of all kinds and she went on many vacation adventures with Audreen, Eric and his family. When her health started to fail and she couldn’t drive anymore, she enjoyed many car rides that Curtis, Teresa, or Eric took her on to get her out of the apartment.
Because she was such a devoted mother it was very natural for her family to take care of her when she needed it. We know she appreciated everything that was done for her and the many visits brightened her days. Samantha’s unique interactions along with Ashley and Taylor kept nana busy with music, picture coloring and dance parties.
The devotion from her family was comforting to her, especially when Audreen rarely left her side in palliative care. Thank you to the staff at Riverview palliative care for their understanding and compassion.
Per our mother’s wishes, we will not be holding a funeral service, cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Jackfish Lake Community Cemetery, date and time to be determined.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Rose Recksiedler October 1 2022 – June 6 1943..
