Rose Patricia Hennessey (nee Walsh)

Peacefully at her home, surrounded in love, the death of Rose
Patricia Hennessey, (nee Walsh) in her 76th year occurred in the early
hours of Monday, February 28th. Beloved wife of almost 50 years to
Andy Hennessey, wonderful mother to Seana Cadotte (Bryan), &
Andrea McCormack (Karl) and dearest Nana to Dreah Hennessey, Rowan
Cadotte, and Mason McCormack. Dear sister to Marjorie Crawford, Emeric
Walsh( Pauline), Marion Myers (Gordon), Leo Walsh (Betty), Earl Walsh
(Gloria). Sister in law to Harold Hennessey (Alma), Colleen Tredenick
(Ernie), Shane Hennessey(Linda),Michael Hennessey
(Darlene),sister-in-law Noreen Hennessey, as well as numerous nieces
& nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Louis and
CatherineWalsh; parents-in-law, Harold and Enid Hennessey; brothers
Vernon and Stephen Walsh and their respective wives, Shirley and Mary;
her sisters Kathleen MacDonald and Bernadette McQuaid, and their
respective husbands, Lorne and Ralph, as well asher brother-in-laws,
Alfred Crawford and Brian Hennessey.
Rose was raised in
Hope River, where she grew up with a strong faith that would carry her
through life and her difficult health issues. After 50 years in
hairdressing, Rose retired in 2014 when she was diagnosed with Stage
4, inoperable lung cancer. To have known Rose, was to have been loved
by her. She was well known for her fierce card playing, and as a guest
you would never leave the home on an empty stomach or without a hug.
Always a confidante and second mom to many, and a better friend and
neighbour then one could ever hope for.
We would like to
take this time to thank the many relatives, neighbours, and friends
for all their support and kindness they have shown our family, not
only in the past few months, but years. A special mention to Sheila
and Norma, two of her forever friends of over 50 years, for their
special care in her final months.
A huge thank you to the
wonderful caring staff of the QEH, and the PEI Home Care,
(Ellie/Lori) and the PEI Palliative Care programs (Dr.
Lecoure/Sharon). Also to her
wonderful team of doctors, Dr.
Stewart, Dr. Champion, Dr. Corbett, Dr. McCarville. We sincerely thank
you for everything you have done for our sweet Rosie.
