Rose Mary Tipold, of Richmond Hill, Ontario, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2022, in her 92nd year, in the palliative care unit of Mackenzie Health Richmond Hill Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born to the late Jacob and Rosalia Freer on December 24, 1930, in Toronto, Ontario.
Rose was married to the late Peter Anthony Tipold in 1952 and is survived by her children John (Wendy Peressini), Gerry (Gayle Ikeda), Peter (Janet Becker) and Kathy Carcasole (Elio). She is also survived by her seven deeply beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Brian, Cassandra, Glenn, Jack and Jordan. Rose was predeceased by her brothers Tony, John, Joseph and Jack.
Rose leaves behind many friends and relatives who were touched by her unconditional love and kindness. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life and she loved them more than anything. In Rose’s words, “Every one of them is a blessing and I love each one of them.”
Rose preferred to see the good in everyone. After retiring from a long career at the Royal Bank, she spent much of her time providing comfort and care to the elderly and sick, or to someone who just needed a smile and a hug. As a minister of Holy Communion for the Catholic Church, she brought communion to those who were not able to come to mass.
Rose was actively involved with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto of which she leaves behind many dear friends.
Rose lived for 57 years in Richmond Hill and was actively involved in the community right up until her passing. She loved visiting and participating in the activities provided by CHATS – Community & Home Assistance To Seniors in Richmond Hill. When she couldn’t visit in person because of COVID, she cheerfully connected remotely on her laptop.
At her eightieth birthday celebration, Rose’s message to everyone still shines brightly, “Just love each other”. Rest in peace, Rose.
The family wishes to thank the amazing and caring nurses and doctors at Mackenzie Health, the wonderful personal support workers who helped her in her home and the many friends she leaves behind at CHATS. Friends and relatives may visit at Marshall Funeral Home at 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill between 2:00 and 4:00 PM or 6:00 and 8:00 PM on Friday, September 16, 2022.
