Obituary of Ronald Lloyd Hillman
Ronald Lloyd Hillman
September 11, 1938 – August 7, 2022
Ron Hillman passed away peacefully on August 7, 2022 at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, in his 84th year. A lifelong resident of Clachan, Ron was the son of the late Lloyd Hillman and Ethel (nee Harvey). Predeceased by his wife Elaine (Cochrane) 2018. He will be sadly missed by his children Nancy Kopriva (Dave) and Mike Hillman (Krista Edwards) as well as grandchildren Brooke, Nathan and Jesse. Beloved brother of Bill Hillman (the late Wilma), George Hillman (Bonnie), Marilynn Somerville (Gord) and the late Harvey Hillman (Esther). Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron will be missed by his many friends and neighbours in the Clachan community and the numerous customers he served while working for McWilliams Appliances for more than 40 years. Ron had a deep love for the game of baseball, and many will remember him in his younger days pitching no-hitters on Friday nights at the Bothwell ball diamond.
Visitation will take place on Friday, August 12th, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Denning’s of Rodney, 212 Furnival Road. A celebration of Ron’s life will take place on Saturday at 11 am. Interment to follow at McLean cemetery.
A special thank you goes out the staff at St. Thomas hospital for the care that Ron received.
If desired memorial contributions to McLean Cemetery or Four Counties Health Services Foundation would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy.
