After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Ron has gone home with Jesus. Beloved husband of Sandra Westby (nee Giddings). Predeceased by his parents Robert and Winifred and by his brother Robert. Loving father of Daniel (Michelle), Dwayne, Mark (Terri) and Bradley (Johanna). Dear grandfather of Cody, Korbyn, Aidan, Peighton, Tru, Alice, Sydney, Lauren, Jace and James. Dear brother-in-law of Susan Fall-Giddings, Bradley Giddings and predeceased by his parents-in-law, Ernest and Betty Giddings. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation was held at the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre on Friday March 18, 2022 and the graveside committal service will take place at later date in the Algoma Mills Cemetery, Elliot Lake. Memorial contributions to the Elliot Lake Palliative Care Program would be appreciated by the family.
The Westby family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph’s General Hospital, as well as Northeast Cancer Centre. Special thanks go out to Dr. Britton-Foster, Dr. Stirrett, Dr. J. Emack, Dr. K. Gill and Dr. Noble for the care provided to Ronald throughout his illness. We would also like to thank the Palliative Care Team, especially Helen Schryer RN CC and Liz Armstrong RPN who took such wonderful care of us.
