Obituary for
Ronald “Ron” Stobbe
June 10, 1933 – Aug 13, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Ron Stobbe announce his passing at the age of 89 years.
Ron will forever be remembered by his wife, Gladys; and sons, Jeff (Valerie) and Dean; grandson, Andrew; brother, Gordon (Irene); and sister, Irene; as well as his extended family and lifelong friends.
Ron was born and grew up in Altona, MB, where he met and married Gladys. As a young man he excelled as a hockey player, playing with the Altona Maroons for 4 years.
Ron loved to drive, tell stories and talk to people. He started driving for a local Altona business and later switched to long-haul trucking. A few years later he began to drive for Greyhound Canada. For 27 years you could find him behind the wheel of a Greyhound bus traveling to almost every town in northern Alberta.
Ron enjoyed snowmobiling with his sons and had epic trips to Valmont, BC and Yellowstone National Park. Once retired, he volunteered countless hours as a member of the South Edmonton Lions Club.
An informal graveside service will be held Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 5420 – 106 Street, Edmonton, AB.
He will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ronald Ron
