Obituary
NEWELL, Ronald Lindsay – 87, of Clark’s Harbour, passed away on October 6, 2022, at Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his wife and children by his side. He was the chosen son Lindsay and Viennie (Rennehan) Newell. He was a fisherman in his early years and in 1966 he became the first coxswain of the first life boat 101 at Clark’s Harbour where he remained until he retired in 1995 due to leukemia. Ronnie could do any kind of work and was self-taught. Ronnie was a boat builder of wooden and fibreglass boats. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife, Dellas (Nickerson) Newell; sons, James and Michael (Lise); daughters, Wendy (Jack) and Susan (Russel); grandsons, Jeremy (Natasha), Tyler (Gina), Brandon, Justin and Jory; granddaughters, Larissa (Colby) and Michaela (Patrick); great-grandsons, Theoren and Rory; great-granddaughters, Madison and Raelyn. He was predeceased by his parents. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, October 8, from 7-9 pm at the H. M Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, where the funeral service will take place on Monday, October 10, at 2 pm with Gary Cunningham officiating. Interment to follow in the West Head Cemetery. It has been requested there be family flowers only. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the West Head Cemetery.
