The death of Ronald “Ronnie” Joseph Hallihan husband of Susan Hallihan of Upper Derby, NB, occurred on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at the Miramichi Hospital at the age of 78. Born in Renous, NB, he was the son of the late Gordon and Hazel (Furlong) Hallihan. Ronnie was retired from the Woodlands Division of Repap. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes and washers and picking blueberries. He was also an avid Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan.
Besides his wife: Susan, Ronnie is survived by children: Kelly MacNeil of NS; Vicky Hallihan of Losier Hall; Tony Hallihan of Bryenton, NB; Angela Keenan (Ben) of Rothesay, NB; sister: Natalie Greencorn of NS; grandchildren: Malorie, Danielle and Devin MacNeil and Benjamin and Jorja Keenan; great grandchildren: Santana, Kendra and Damiano as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ronnie is predeceased by brothers: Floyd and Al and sister: Mary Marchand.
The family will receive visitors at St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church, Renous on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 4-8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 10 AM with Father Paul Doucet officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
