Obituary of Ronald F. “Ron” Marshall
Of St. Thomas, passed away at the Valleyview Home on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (née MacFarlane) Marshall (1999). Dearly loved father of Kim Marshall (Cindy), Terry Marshall (Sandy), Debbie Gilchrist (John), Kevin Marshall (Anita), and Steven Marshall (Jill). A cherished grandfather of Lesley, Lyndsey, Laura, Sarah, Brandon, Nathan, Cal, Matt, and Christina, and step-grandfather to Melinda and Mark. He was a very proud great grandfather. Dear brother of Marilyn Ball, Bob Marshall, Gloria Woodford, Carolyn Buchanan, Fred Marshall, late Irene Casten, and the late Pat Hubert. Also remembered by many nieces, nephews, and their families. Born in Yarmouth Twp., ON, December 5, 1928, he was a son of the late Fred and Zeda (née Parish) Marshall. Ron was a retired quality control inspector at Ford Motor Company of Canada’s St. Thomas Assembly Plant. He was a former member of the St. Thomas Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and C.A.W. Local 1520.
A public celebration of life will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so. A private visitation/funeral service for the immediate family will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, attendance numbers will be restricted, physical distancing will be followed, and a properly worn mask is required. Interment in Elmdale Memorial Park. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Valleyview Home (re: Recreation Fund), or a charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
