Killen, Ronald Delbert – With heavy hearts the family announces the sudden, peaceful passing of Ronald Killen on September 9, 2022 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.
Ronnie was a son of the late Ira and Eileen (Jewers) Killen.
He was born, raised and lived in Murchyville all of his 83 years, raising his own family, working with various construction companies and later having his own company, leaving a legacy of his own construction skills. Ronnie was a hard-working man who enjoyed the simple things like providing for his family, giving a helping hand, family gatherings, fishing and walks in the woods. He found much enjoyment from watching his grandchildren grow into amazing adults and was so pleased to meet his first great-grandchild, Lucas.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Leila (Cole) Killen; son, Carl (Colleen); daughter, Cathy (Jeff); sons-in-law, Troy, Ricky; grandchildren, Chelsea, Ashleigh (Daniel), Nicole, Colton, Tyler, Brandon, Gabby; great-grandson, Lucas; brother, Wendell (Veronica); sisters-in-law, Luella, June; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Donna; brothers, Percy, Eddie, Bob, Lorne; sisters-in-law, Joanne and Eleanor.
A funeral service will be held in Middleton United Church, Middle Musquodoboit on Thursday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Allan Lynk officiating.
