Ronald Anthony Neilly Wednesday May 4th 2022

Neilly, Ronald Anthony
It is with a mixture of sadness and relief that Ronald Neilly passed away at Chartwell Willowgrove Long Term Care, Ancaster on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at the age of 94. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary in 1995, and was the loving father of Cathy (Ian) Catton and David (Vanda). He was the cherished grandfather of Brian (Jaycee), Heather (Tyler) Freeman, Marissa (Steven) Bodner and Wynne. He took great joy at being a great grandfather to Brayden, Rylee, Sloane, Piper and Ramona and loved hearing about everything they were doing. Ron grew up in Kitchener and moved to Hamilton in 1953 to work for Hamilton Hydro. Ron took great pride in his career at Hamilton Hydro and developed many friendships over his 30+ years there. He loved the outdoors and fishing, played an active role in his community, and was a devoted Detroit Tigers baseball fan. He especially cherished his lifelong buddies from Kitchener, and maintained these relationships throughout his life.
The family is very thankful for the love and support provided to Ron from family and friends, and especially from the staff at Willowgrove.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be a private family service at Resurrection Cemetery, Ancaster. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Good Shepherd Centre (www.goodshepherdcentres.ca) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
