Roger J Hornsby 1940 2022

Roger J. Hornsby, 82, of Dieppe, N.B.; passed away
Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at The Moncton Hospital, following a
courageous 8 year battle with cancer. Born in Bourlamaque, PQ, he was
the son of the late Gerald and Mary Hornsby. Roger and his wife
Lorieta owned and operated Midwick Distribution.
Roger loved playing hockey. He was a goaltender for a number
of local teams from playing pickup hockey to playing in the Monctonian
with the Moncton Elks and the Roadrunners.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Lorieta
Hornsby; two children, Deborah M. Hornsby (Steve Edwards) of
California and Patrick H. Hornsby (Karen Johnson) of Toronto,
grandson, Dexter Hornsby; sister, Heather Stewart (Rory); also by his
niece and nephew.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Ian
Hornsby.
Honouring Roger’s wishes there is no visitation or funeral
service locally, Cremation has taken place at Tuttle Brothers Ltd
Crematorium, Riverview, NB
Burial will take place at a later date.
Donations to the Oncology Departments at the Moncton Hospital
or Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital, or the Canadian Cancer Society would
be appreciated.
