Born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia on February 27, 1940 .Joined the military at age17 (Royal Canadian Signal Corp). Main base was in Kingston. Ontario.
Doug served 25 years with the Corp and served in many bases across Canada, the Middle East Cyprus and Europe.
Doug retired in British Columbia. He had to settle on one coast or the other and the West Coast won out.
Upon retirement he trained and secured an engineering Ticket, bought into Richmond Plywood and worked there for a time.
On leaving Richply he secured a position with B.C. Corrections and served in that capacity for 17 years.
Doug was an avid sportsman, both hunting and fishing, he also operated his ownfishing charter business up and down the West Coast.
He retired from B.C. Corrections February 27, 2000 and devoted most of his time to huntin g and fishing but still found time to pursue other endeavors. Doug eryoyed travelling the province of British Columbia and for several years delivered boat trailers for EZEELoader throughout the province .
Doug leaves behind his loving wife Patricia of 60 years, daughter DS Fera, son Daniel Christopher, grandsons Zac and Logan and two great grandchildren.
