It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Rink holding his sweethearts, Shelagh’s, hand on July 16, 2022 in Enderby B.C., after a courageous battle, 5 yrs, with cancer. Rod was the youngest child, born to Kenny and Happy Rink of Young, Sask. on June 7, 1969.
Rod leaves behind his Mom and Dad, daughter: Daphne Rink, wife: Shelagh, stepchildren: Trent and Sophia Knjaschewitsch, siblings: Brad Rink, Wes (Brenda) Rink, Della (Murray) Siroski, nieces and nephews: Garrett Rink, Everet Rink (Megan), Tyrel (Echo) and Inara Rink, Kendra (Kevin) Körting, Chandra Rink (Patrick), Blaine (Jamie) Siroski, Courtney (Daylon), Bryden and Kaysen Korolchuk and cousins, friends and neighbours.
Rod spent most of his life farming with his Mom and Dad on the family farm. The nieces, nephews and cousins remember spending a lot of quality time with Uncle Rod on and off the farm. He moved to B.C. and continued spending as much time as he could with his daughter Daphne. This is where he met the love of his life, Shelagh and gained another daughter and a son. He worked at various jobs including dairies and Home Hardware.
Rodney’s loved the outdoors and loved fishing, hunting, camping and I’d course farming. He waited for the rainy days to be able to get away from the farm to fish or hunt. His last trip to Saskatchewan, June 2022, he was bound that Shelagh, Sophia and Trent were going to catch either a walleye or pike fish!! He was ecstatic when His wife got the one and only 10lb walleye. He was so proud!!
Rodney will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of His Life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services (2980 Smith Drive, Armstrong, BC). Click the link to view the livestream of the service: live.sproing.ca/Alternatives/.
