Obituary of Robert Stanley Anderson
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Anderson of Robert Anderson Funeral Services. Bob passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, July 17th, 2022, at the age of 74. Bob was a trailblazer in funeral service. As Fort McMurray’s first licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, he paved the way for professionals in our industry, which he was incredibly proud of. He tried to embrace retirement in British Columbia but ultimately returned to his beloved business and the community and surrounding communities he loved so dearly.
Bob impacted many lives; with his compassionate care for grieving families, his kind and generous heart, and the mentorship he provided up-and-coming funeral service professionals throughout his 50-year career. He will be lovingly remembered by his good friends and associates over the years and missed dearly by his work family, who will continue his legacy.
As per his wishes, there will be no formal services, and cremation has taken place. We invite friends to come by to pay their final respects on Monday, July 25th, 2022, between 11:00 am until 7:00 pm, at Robert Anderson Funeral Services (115-190 MacAlpine Crescent).
In Bob’s memory, we graciously ask for donations to the Fort McMurray SPCA – as he adored animals.
