Robert Morrow
Peacefully, with his family by his side, Bob passed away on May 14, 2022 at Georgetown hospital.
Bob was born on May 29, 1934 in Glasgow Scotland and was the son of Robert and Mary Morrow. As a young man, he served his country in the British Army from 1955-1958 and was a part of the reserve from 1958-1962. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
He excelled at sports and quickly made a name for himself as an exceptional soccer (football) player; a talent that would see him play professional soccer for Motherwell in the Scottish Premier League in the late1950’s
In 1967, Bob, his wife Jane and their three sons Paul, Robert Jr and Kenneth immigrated to Canada. He enjoyed working in his trade as a skilled carpenter and cabinet maker for many years owning his own carpentry business in Georgetown. Soccer was his passion; he was one of the founding members in establishment of the Georgetown Soccer Club in 1968. He coached youth boys in both house league and traveling teams in Georgetown for over 15 years and was also selected in 1973 to coach the Ontario Provincial Under 16 team to participate in the Canadian Championship.
Bob is predeceased by his son Kenneth. He will be sadly missed by his cherished wife Jane to whom he was married for 62 years, and his sons Paul (Shari) and Bob (Pam). He will forever be the devoted and beloved grandfather of Julie (Matt), Stacy, Katie (Chad) and Carrie (Kyle). His great-grand children Marley, Hazel, Grayson, Jack and Gordie were the light of his life. Bob will be dearly remembered by his nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest during a private family service.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 18, 2022 at 2:00 in the Fireside Lounge at the Gallery Tower, 200 Halton Hills Drive in Georgetown for all whom wish to attend.
