Obituary of Robert Eric Bentley
It is with heavy hearts, our family announces the peaceful passing of Robert Eric Bentley (Bob) after a courageous battle with ALS on August 30th, 2022 at the age of 67.
Loving husband to Lorraine Bentley (Lorrie), and proud father to Marty Wanner, Melany (Jim), and Ashley. Brother to Marc (Jane), Peter (Debbey), Paul, Lise (Fernando), and Sue (Tara). He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews and his grand dogs Carter, MJ, Piper and Banjo.
Bob is predeceased by his parents Gerald and Lorraine.
Bob will forever be remembered for his smile and sense of humour. You could always count on him for a good “Dad joke”. Bob was the most kind, giving person and always made sure that his family was taken care of. He worked proudly at Metro for 46 years, retiring in January of 2020. He enjoyed all things outdoors, including camping, biking, rollerblading and golf. A loyal Montreal Canadians fan until the end.
Our heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff on C3 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre as well as Dr. Trenker, Dr. Leckie, and Dr. Moore. A big thank you to the staff at the ALS clinic in Ottawa.
As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and visitation will take place at Martyn Funeral Home on Saturday, Sept 3rd, 2022 from 1pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Society of Canada.
