Obituary of Robert Basil Treffry Prideaux
PRIDEAUX, Robert Basil Treffry (Bob) of Sarnia
Passed away peacefully at Sumac Lodge, Sarnia on Monday May 2 2022 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Doris Prideaux (2008). Dearly loved father of Cynthia Prideaux, Douglas Prideaux, Christopher (Sandy) Prideaux, Geoffrey Prideaux and Thane (Betty) Prideaux. Cherished Grampa of Lindsay (Brian) Coene, Kirsten (Chris) Leeder and Alicia (Thomas) Schwitzer. Loving Great Grampa of Reese, Emma and Beckett Coene, Cal Leeder and Lincoln and Ivy Schwitzer. He will be fondly remembered by nephews John (Jane) and Richard (Susan) Andrews and their families. Bob was predeceased by his parents Basil Champernoun (1959) and Kate Amelia Prideaux (1977), his sister Marjorie (2015) and his brother John Geoffrey (1943).
Bob attended the University of Toronto and graduated as a chemical engineer. After graduation, he worked in Georgetown Ontario where he met and married Doris Keen. They moved to Bright’s Grove, Ontario, in 1954 and Bob began a long career at Dow Chemical. The family moved to the house on Gurd Street in Sarnia in 1956.
As per Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place. The family would like to thank the staff at Sumac Lodge for their care of Robert.
